ImposeIQ Gilder
Drop in a customer’s PDF and see it finished: gold, silver and coloured foils, holograms and spot UV catching the light as you tilt the card. Then get the files your embellishment device needs, without the prepress.
Capabilities
From the designer’s idea to the embellisher, in one view.
Designers ask for foil in a dozen different ways, and many files arrive with no instruction at all. Gilder reads what the file says, suggests what it does not, shows the customer the result, and writes exactly what each device expects.
- Reads the designer’s intent from spot colours named Gold Foil, Red Foil, Holographic, Spot UV, Varnish and the like
- Suggests finishes for a plain CMYK file: the headline, the lettering, the line art, the photographs, or combinations
- Gold, silver, rose gold, blue, red and green foils, rainbow, prism, sparkle and pinstripe holograms, and spot UV gloss
- A live preview that tilts with the mouse, with the light moving across the foil and the gloss
- Export the card turning in the light as a looping WebM video, landscape, square or vertical
- Blind emboss and deboss, and metallic, pearl, kraft and uncoated stocks with optional white ink
- In the desktop Suite, one click sends the card to the Imposer with each finish on its own layer, in register on the press sheet
- Click any object on the card to add it to a finish or take it off
- Separate CMYK and finish files, one file with each finish on a layer, or the finishes as extra pages
- The designer’s foil artwork comes out of the CMYK file; each finish is written in the spot ink name your RIP expects
- Eight sample pieces built in: invitations, cards, a business card, a concert ticket and more
