What does the glue cost per book?
Enter the run and the spine. The calculator works out spine glue per book, books per pound and total cost for EVA and Planamelt Pro side by side. It also checks the book against the DB-300 limits.
Planamelt Pro
EVA
Glue cost per book by spine width
Both glues are worked out at the same coverage, the way Duplo's DB-300 yield calculator does it. Planamelt goes on thinner than EVA (0.2–0.7 mm against 0.5–1 mm, per Planatol), so on a real job it usually uses less glue than this shows. Side glue and pot purge are not included. These figures are estimates for planning. Actual yield depends on machine settings, room conditions and the paper.
Built for short and medium runs.
Book sizes from 2.8 × 4.5 in to 13.3 × 13.0 in, covers up to 13.3 × 33 in and binding up to 2.0 in thick. Up to 400 cycles and 240 books an hour, with milling, nipping and side glue built in. The glue pot takes 30–40 minutes to warm up. It runs on 208–240 V and ships with a NEMA L6-20P twist-lock plug, so plan for an L6-20R outlet.
