ImposeIQ Cover Builder

A page-layout editor for one job: the cover of a perfect-bound book — back, spine and front with bleed, safe areas and hinge creases — with the spine width worked out from the book itself.

Capabilities

The spine is right before the cover is designed.

Load the body PDF and pick the paper: the page count, trim and spine come from the book, so the cover is laid out to the size it will actually wrap.

  • Spine from pages and paper: grade and weight, mill PPI or a measured caliper, plus glue and cover wrap
  • Back, spine and front with bleed, safe areas, spine safe and hinge creases drawn
  • Text, image and shape frames, layers, snapping, undo and redo
  • Front and back placed straight from the body PDF’s first and last pages
  • Inside covers, flaps and glue areas
  • ISBN barcodes and Duplo DC registration / OMR marks
  • Preflight before export; cover PDF, proof PDF, PNG preview and DC crease XML
