Help · Equipment payback

ImposeIQ ROI guide

The machines, Sales and Shop modes, where each figure comes from, and how the payback is worked out.

Overview

What a Duplo embellishment or finishing machine is worth to a shop, built from the numbers the rest of the Suite already keeps. Pick the equipment and the page shows the payback, and every line of arithmetic behind it.

Each machine starts from the Duplo USA list price, accessory set, install & training fee and optional annual maintenance on a real quote - the quote number and date show under Investment. Discount off list takes a dealer, partner or franchise discount off the equipment (not the install).

What it is for

Showing where the payback comes from - trade work no longer bought, new work sold, setup time the ImposeIQ barcode gives back, and the prep the Automation Workflow does - rather than one big number nobody can check.

What it is not

A quotation or a tax calculation. Prices are list prices from past quotes, not an offer, and tax is a flat rate with straight-line depreciation. Volumes, trade prices and speeds are starting points.

Sales and Shop

The switch in the header keeps two separate scenarios, so flipping it in front of a customer never loses what was typed into the other one.

ModeWhere the figures come from
SalesDuplo figures for each machine and the MIS sample shop. For walking a prospect through the numbers before they own anything.
ShopThis shop's own MIS: each machine's cost center (sheets an hour, setup minutes), the jobs routed through it in the last year (jobs a year, sheets a job, the MIS sell price) and the Automation Workflow runs (jobs a year, hand prep the steps replace, average job cost). A figure read from the MIS carries an MIS tag; change it and the tag reads edited. Refresh reads the MIS again and keeps anything you edited.

The page only reads. It cannot change a rate, a job, a workflow or a run, and it is never handed artwork paths, customer contacts or workflow folders.

How the number is built

LineArithmetic, per year
Trade finishing no longer boughtsheets × share sent out × trade price, plus freight per trade job
Hand work no longer donesheets × share done by hand ÷ 100 × hand minutes per 100 sheets × wage
New work sold at the MIS pricesheets × the rest of the work × sell price per sheet
Setup recall from ImposeIQjobs × (setup minutes − setup with the barcode / job recall) × wage
Hand prep the workflow doesworkflow jobs × (hand prep − checking minutes) × prepress wage
Remakes preflight catchesworkflow jobs × drop in remake rate × average job cost
Faster quoting in the MISquotes × minutes saved per quote × estimator wage
Running costsoperator hours × wage, consumables per sheet, service contract, power (hours × kW × $/kWh), software

Where the MIS and workflows come in

The five cards under the charts follow one job through the machine being edited: the MIS cost center that prices it, the workflow that preps it, the machine reading the barcode instead of being set up by hand, the floor posting real minutes back to the job, and the payback. Proof from the MIS lists jobs that route through the selected machines, with estimated and actual minutes, what the work cost in house, and what a trade finisher would have charged.

Cash, lease & what-if

Money switches between a cash purchase (payback, NPV and IRR) and a lease (monthly payment against monthly benefit, and the month the lease turns cash positive). What if volume changes? scales every job, sheet and quote; the sensitivity table shows payback at 50% to 150%, and the note under it gives the volume a cash purchase needs to hit your target payback.

Scenarios, CSV & print

Scenarios saves the current mode under a name on this PC; the Suite backup carries them. Export CSV writes the summary, the annual bridge, each machine and every input. Print / PDF prints a clean, light proposal with an assumptions table - choose Microsoft Print to PDF to send it.
